Geoff came in swinging: Ridley bought from Ward Hogs pre-draft for Gunnar Helm plus a third, KC Concepcion at 1.06, then a trade back INTO round 1, sending 2.06 and the Doctors' own 2027 second to grab Denzel Boston at 1.12. Both KCC and Boston land in Cleveland, which is either a genius stack of the league's most target-rich vacuum or a very concentrated bet on a franchise that changes QBs like socks. Emmett Johnson at 2.03 was the RB2 on multiple prep boards and might be the best value of the round. Skyler Bell and Jake Tonges are roster spackle. The young core underneath is legit elite: Bowers 23, Amon-Ra 26, Hampton 23, Egbuka 23. The QB room (Shough, Kyler, Bryce, Watson) is four names in a trench coat pretending to be a Superflex answer.
THE HAUL
Concepcion was the last Tier-2 WR on the consensus board. Knee scope resolved, healthy all spring. Clean pick.
Boston is a contested-catch X with red-zone gravity. The CLE double-dip is the bet: someone there has to catch touchdowns.
Johnson might out-produce both first-rounders by 2027. Sneaky excellent.
Tonges had a mini-breakout spring in SF. TE3 insurance behind Bowers means never needing to think about it again.
Bell is Buffalo depth with route polish. Taxi filler.
Emmett Johnson at 2.03. Kansas City backfield with Walker aging into a committee and nothing locked behind him. Analytics darling, real capital, right price.
The Boston trade-up. Paying a 2 plus a recovered 2027 2nd to double down on the same Cleveland WR room you just drafted at 1.06 is bold portfolio construction.
3-YEAR OUTLOOK
Young contender with one loud flawPlayoff team on skill talent alone. Bowers is the best TE asset in dynasty, the WR room is now seven deep, and Hampton-Etienne-Jacobs covers RB. But Superflex is unforgiving: Shough and a diminished Kyler will lose them two weeks they should have won.
The fork. Bryce Young either becomes the answer at 25 or the whole QB room needs burning down in the loaded 2027 class, and they already spent this year's recovered second. Core stays elite: Bowers 24, Egbuka 24, Hampton 24, KCC 22, Boston 23.
If a QB emerged, title window wide open with the youngest premium-position core outside Ward Hogs. If not, this is the best supporting cast in the league perpetually missing a lead actor.
STASH WATCH
Denzel Boston • Taxi. Cleveland's red-zone X of the future, and 6-4 outside receivers with his catch radius do not stay round-1 fallers long.
Emmett Johnson • Taxi. KC backfields make fantasy stars out of committee backs. The 2027 breakout candidate on this roster.
Mason Taylor • Second-year Jets TE with the pedigree surname. Bowers insurance that could become trade bait.
