“The 1.01 does the heavy lifting, the rest is scaffolding”
The worst team in LOTF last year (4-10) did the one thing rebuilds must do: convert misery into a franchise cornerstone without overthinking it. Jeremiyah Love at 1.01 was consensus number one on every board that matters, a 21-year-old walking into a vacated Arizona backfield with true bell-cow projection. He is instantly the second-most valuable asset on the roster behind Burrow and the entire 2028 plan wears his number. Nicholas Singleton at 2.01 doubles the RB bet with a Tennessee committee lead-in, Chig Okonkwo and Jalen Nailor are veteran floor pieces for a roster that needed bodies, and Jordan James at 4.09 (bought with a Ward Hogs fourth) adds a Shanahan-backfield dart. The unresolved problem is loud: the WR room is Ladd McConkey and a support group. Burrow at 29 with Jordan Love and Daniel Jones behind him is a strange QB portfolio for a team this young everywhere else.
THE HAUL
Franchise RB, no notes. The Cardinals backfield is his by October.
Singleton at 2.01 is aggressive for a committee back, but RB-needy math and his receiving chops make it fine.
Okonkwo is a bridge TE who starts for them Week 1. Unsexy, useful.
Nailor catches passes from whoever Vegas fields. Floor, no ceiling.
Jordan James, bought for a spare fourth. SF backfields reward patience. Good little move.
Love at 1.01. When the consensus and the situation agree, do not be clever. They were not clever. Perfect.
Nailor at 4.01 was the round's least imaginative pick with Ja'Kobi Lane, Trevor Etienne, and three QB flyers still on the board for a team that needs 2028 lottery tickets, not 2026 floor.
3-YEAR OUTLOOK
Rebuild with a cornerstone, WR problem unsolvedBottom three again, and that is fine. Love and Singleton get their reps, Burrow keeps games watchable, and the front office's real job is trading Barkley (29) and Kittle (32) for 2027 capital by the deadline.
The Love-Harvey backfield plus a hopefully-top-3 pick in the loaded QB class starts looking like a foundation. McConkey needs a running mate badly: two firsts should go to WR or the rebuild stalls at the same wall.
Love 23, Harvey 27, whatever 2027 brought. If they spent the interim picks on receivers, this is a playoff roster with the league's best young RB duo. If they kept drafting floor vets, it is 6-8 forever. The blueprint is on the wall, they just have to follow it.
STASH WATCH
Jaydon Blue • Taxi. Dallas speed back one depth-chart accident from fantasy relevance.
Pat Bryant • Taxi. Denver kept him over vets in spring cuts. Sean Payton WR develop track.
Jordan James • SF backfield succession behind CMC's decline curve, which Squirelly is funding across town.
Tory Horton • Seattle spring standout before the injury flag. Deep-league gold if healthy.
